F-1 Eligible Programs

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Beginner - Advanced ESL

Midwestern Career College’s English as a Second Language program is for students who wish to learn English in order to fulfill their personal, academic, or professional goals. The intensive, sequenced courses focus on the four English-language skill areas: listening and speaking, reading, writing, and application of grammar. Instructors use a variety of activities— interviews, dialogues, role-plays, language-games, and others — to give students opportunities to develop and use their English-language skills.

Professional English (ESL)

Post-Advanced (C2) ESL

Midwestern Career College’s Professional English courses are for Post-Advanced (C2) ESL students who wish to develop language and communication skills needed to work effectively with English-speaking clients or in English-speaking workplaces. The program seeks to provide non-native speakers of English with the English language, academic, and cultural skills that will enable them to further their education in U.S. colleges or universities and/or gain employment in their native countries or the U.S.

English for Academic Purposes (ESL)

Post-Advanced (C2) ESL

Midwestern Career College’s English for Academic Purposes ESL courses are designed for advanced (C2) ESL students who wish to further develop their academic skills and understanding of US culture in preparation for admission to or study in US colleges and universities.

English for Healthcare

Midwestern Career College’s English for Healthcare program is designed for non-native speakers of English who have a background in the medical field but require additional English language skills specific to the medical field. The program is also intended for students who wish to improve their language skills to pass Occupational English Test (OET) for Healthcare Professionals.

The program courses aim to help students grow their capacity to communicate in a healthcare setting by focusing on English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Through readings, role-plays, listening activities, and discussions, students will learn how to communicate effectively with patients and allied healthcare workers. The courses will also cover vocabulary and language structures related to basic medical terminology, medical law and ethics, and human health and disease conditions. .

AAS in Business Administration

Business Program

Midwestern Career College’s Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration program prepares students to:

  • Demonstrate a knowledge base in business administration.
  • Demonstrate mastery of the concepts in business administration and their practical applications.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in accounting, management theory, and marketing.
  • Communicate and interact as productive members of the administration team.

AAS in Accounting

Business Program

Midwestern Career College’s Associate of Applied Science in Accounting program prepares students to:

  • Understand and apply accounting knowledge such as taxation, payroll, budgeting, auditing in performing accounting and bookkeeping functions.

  • Apply essential content regarding managing self, others, and organizations.

  • Apply critical-thinking, decision-making, and analytical problem-solving skills in an accounting environment.

  • Proficiently use computer applications and accounting software to perform basic bookkeeping/accounting and prepare basic accounting and management reports.

  • Perform as an effective team member in a professional environment.

AAS in Marketing

Business Program

Midwestern Career College’s 2-year Associate of Applied Science in Marketing is designed to prepare students for entry-level marketing positions for a wide range of organizations and across many business environments. The program includes instruction in marketing principles, internet marketing, advertising, marketing research, sales and supply chain management. Students will also gain knowledge and experience in other business areas.

AAS in Information Technology

IT Program

Midwestern Career College’s 2-year Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology provides fast-track pathways to IT careers and is the perfect intersection of a four-year IT degree and an IT boot-camp.

Students will learn in-demand software skills including Java Programming and Agile Software Development. The program is ideal for students who want to start a career in IT, and IT professionals who want to enhance their skills and credentials while accessing the comprehensive resources available to MCC students.

AAS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Allied Health Program

Diagnostic medical sonography utilizes high-frequency sound waves that produce images of organs, tissues and blood flow inside the body that help doctors diagnose patient illness. Sonographers typically work closely with patients and radiologists in health-care settings, including hospitals, diagnostic medical centers, mobile ultrasound companies, medical clinics, and physician’s offices.

Midwestern Career College’s Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is designed to prepare students with the general education, applied knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for entry-level positions in the diagnostic medical sonography field.

AAS in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology

Allied Health Program

Midwestern Career College’s Associate of Applied Science in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology program prepares students with the general education, applied knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for entry-level positions in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology field.

MRI uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures. The images can then be examined on a computer monitor or printed.

AAS in Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Sonography

Allied Health Program

Midwestern Career College’s 2-year Associate of Applied Science in Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Sonography  is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the cardiovascular sonography field.

Those looking to start or further their career in healthcare, specifically at an ultrasound center or at a hospital’s imaging department as an echo sonographer (technician), will excel in this program.

Commonly known as an echo ultrasound, cardiovascular sonography is an imaging modality to assist in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. The sonographer is trained to perform cardiac ultrasound, cardiac stress testing, EKG and vascular ultrasound.
