Exploring related healthcare pathways? Students interested in diagnostic imaging, surgical environments, or hands-on patient care may also wish to consider these Fall 2026 programs currently accepting applications:
Midwestern Career College’s Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography program prepares students with the general education, applied knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for entry-level positions in the Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography technology field.
Radiography involves the administration of X-rays, gamma rays, or other ionizing radiation to produce images of the human body for diagnostic purposes. Radiographers take X-rays (radiographs) and perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures. The images are used to carefully diagnose illness, disease and injury.
ARRT-recognized program: Midwestern Career College’s AAS in Diagnostic Medical Imaging (Radiography) at the Columbus, Ohio campus has been certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), aligning the program with nationally recognized radiography education standards and credentialing pathways.

The goals of the program are to provide education and training to students so they possess the knowledge and skills required for employment as entry-level radiography technologists, and:
See Midwestern Career College’s Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography students in a real lab setting as they build hands-on imaging skills and prepare for clinical practice.
810 hours of externship are required for program completion. During the externship, students apply their classroom and lab training in real clinical environments, working alongside experienced radiologic technologists and healthcare teams. This hands-on experience reinforces imaging procedures, patient positioning, safety protocols, and workflow in active medical settings.
MCC’s externship coordination team works directly with students to secure and manage clinical placements, helping ensure each student gains relevant, structured experience aligned with program outcomes.
Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography plays a central role in modern healthcare, with steady demand for trained professionals. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs are expected to grow 5% from 2024–2034, which is considered faster than average.
