Dr. Resto Presents Research at the University of Nevada, Reno

Last Thursday, Dr. Angel Resto, Director of MCC’s Business Programs, presented original research at the
University of Nevada, Reno on the role of faculty–student relationships in strengthening students’ sense of belonging —
a key factor in improving retention and completion rates.

The presentation received an overwhelmingly positive response, and Dr. Resto has since been invited to collaborate with
New York University (NYU) faculty on a forthcoming study examining this topic from the faculty perspective.

Congratulations, Dr. Olga Gusak! 🎓📖

MCC proudly recognizes Dr. Gusak, Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, on the publication of her co-authored article in The Qualitative Report, a distinguished peer-reviewed journal.

This work stems from her doctoral dissertation research and her presentation at the 2025 World Conference on Qualitative Research. The article explores narrative inquiry methodology and incorporates insights from interviews with executive leaders at for-profit colleges.

It offers a rich perspective on higher education through the voices of twelve participants, highlighting the value of qualitative research in understanding the sector.
