International Transfer Students Applying from the U.S.

If you are an international student who is currently in the U.S. and would like to transfer from another school, follow the requirements and application checklist below.

1. Complete Midwestern Career College’s online Request for Information Form and pay application fee.

Once we receive your request for information, an admissions counselor will contact you to start the process. During your admissions interview, your counselor will discuss your academic goals and interests to help you select the program that best suits your needs. The counselor will review the admissions requirements and the necessary application documents to make sure you understand every step of the process.

2. Submit Required Documents

Passport copy with all visa pages
Your passport should be valid for at least six months at the time of application.

Your I-94 arrival/departure record, and a copy your I-20 from each U.S. school you have attended.
Notify your admissions counselor if you no longer have access to one or more of your I-20s.

Ask your school to fill out the Transfer Request Form
Your current school’s advisor or DSO should email the completed form to international@mccollege.edu

Provide proof of sufficient funds.
If you are paying your own tuition and fees:
Submit an original bank statement issued within 30 days of your application date. If the statement is from a foreign financial institution, it must be stamped, signed, and accompanied by a certified translation.

If you are financially supported by a US citizen or resident:
Submit an Affidavit of Support (Form I-134) filled out and signed by the sponsor, along with their original most recent bank statement issued within 30 days of your application date.

If you are financially supported by someone outside of the US:
Submit the support letter signed by your sponsor, and their original most recent bank statement issued within 30 days of your application date. All statements from a foreign financial institution must be stamped, signed, and accompanied by a certified translation.

Provide Proof of High School Graduation
High School graduation is required for admission to all programs. Submit a copy of your high school diploma or HS transcripts with the graduation date listed, accompanied by the English translation.

Provide official transcripts from all US-based colleges or universities you attended.

If submitting electronically via Parchment or similar transcript delivery providers, please send to registrar@mccollege.edu

Optional practical training (OPT) documents
If you participated in the OPT program with any of the prior colleges, please submit a copy of your OPT documents, including your employment authorization document (EAD) and/or I-20 with OPT authorization.

Marriage and birth certificates for dependents
If you are applying with dependents, additional documents may be requested by Admissions.

3. Take Online Entrance Exam

After your admissions counselor reviews the documents you submitted, they will schedule you to take an online entrance exam.

4. Sign the Enrollment Agreement and receive your Acceptance Letter

Once all admission requirements are met and your record is transferred to MCC, you will receive an Acceptance Letter to Midwestern Career College and an initial I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for F-1 Status).
