MCC ESL Programs Receive 10-Year Accreditation from CEA

Longest accreditation available signifies MCC’s exceptional quality in ESL education

September 6, 2023. Midwestern Career College’s English as a Second Language program has been reaffirmed for programmatic accreditation for the next ten years – until August 2033 by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), a specialized accrediting agency that focuses on post-secondary intensive English language programs.

In reviewing a program, the Commission evaluates:

• that it provides the student services and programs described in its materials;
• is student-centered;
• provides a program that supports its mission;
• and has the resources, fiscal and human, to assure that students are well served through meeting the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions.

The Commission has determined that the Midwestern Career College English as a Second Language Program meets these requirements and commends the program for its achievement.

Receiving a 10-year accreditation from CEA is the most extended recognition possible for an ESL program, signifying the exceptional quality of ESL education offered at MCC.

The achievement above is an effort of the whole college, including the ESL Academic team as well as the college-wide administrative teams who consistently provide valuable services to our ESL students. We look forward to ten more years of ongoing excellence in delivering ESL education!
