Chicago, Illinois — November 12, 2021 — Midwestern Career College announces the grand opening of its Evergreen Park Extension Campus, serving Chicago’s South Side students with a newly purpose-built educational facility featuring state-of-the-art dental and medical teaching labs.

“The Evergreen Park extension campus expands on our South Side presence, and is newly built out as an educational facility in a premium location,” said Jeremy Oberfeld, CEO of Midwestern Career College. “We’re excited to be opening the doors here, and continuing our mission to offer only the best to our students.”

Serving The Community

The new campus has already attracted a great deal of positive community attention.

Dr Michael Acierno, DDS, Chief Medical Officer of Decision One Dental Partners, was delighted to accept MCC’s offer to speak at the ceremony and participate in the ribbon cutting. He also toured the Dental Assisting lab facilities, which allow students to practice their skills in a setting that simulates a real-life dental office. “You can have a great career in the dental world in a program like this,” Dr. Acierno stated regarding MCC’s Dental Assisting program.

Dr. Acierno and other premier allied health partners of MCC, many of whom were present at the invitation-only grand opening ceremony, noted the importance of the type of skilled, career-ready students graduating from the types of Allied Health and Dental programs offered by MCC.

As CEO Oberfeld noted, “It’s a win-win for both students and the community. Students are able to advance their careers, while hospitals and practitioners in the community are able to find the essential well-trained staff they need for their practices.”

A Well-Attended Grand Opening

The Grand Opening Ceremony was held in the late afternoon on November 11, 2021 and was well-attended. MCC staff and faculty were joined by Dr. Acierno and guest list of honored MCC partners from Advocate Aurora, Rush, Evergreen Green Park Trustee Board, and a wide spectrum of other valued MCC associates. Aside from the speeches, a highlight was the cutting of the inaugural ribbon. All in all, high energy was the order of the afternoon, and an enjoyable time was had by all in welcoming the campus into its operations.

About The Campus

The campus placement in Evergreen Park was selected as a premium location, convenient to Chicago’s South Side and its Northern Indiana communities, both of which are strongly represented in the student populations served by MCC.

The campus is newly outfitted with the Dental Assisting Lab and Lecture Area, a Sterile Processing Lab, two Medical Assisting/Dialysis Labs, additional lecture areas, and other student areas, such as the Learning Resource Center and a Student Breakroom for students to relax between classes. MCC Admissions and Financial Aid team members are also located onsite to assist students.
