MCC student preparing the MRI simulator for brain scan setup.
Midwestern Career College’s Associate of Applied Science in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology program prepares students with the general education, applied knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required for entry-level positions in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology field.
MRI uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed pictures of organs, soft tissues, bone and virtually all other internal body structures. The images can then be examined on a computer monitor or printed.
MRI has become a vital tool in medical imaging today. These detailed images allow physicians to better evaluate parts of the body and certain diseases that may not be assessed adequately with other imaging methods, such as x-ray, ultrasound or computed tomography.
Enrollment Update: At this time, enrollment for the Winter 2025 start for the AAS in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technology at the Naperville Campus has officially moved to CLOSED status as the cohort is full. Please reach out to your Admissions Counselor to discuss other program options.
