I.                    Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate, and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.  S/he schedules and coordinates tests; records test results, and prepare and maintain operational logs.  The Ultrasound Technologist calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed. 

II.                 Qualifications:

Required Education: Graduate from an AMA-approved school or the combination of education, knowledge, skills, mental development, and relevant experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position. ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or ARRT(R)(S) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists). Registry is required within the first year of employment.  

Desirable Education:  An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Required Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist (Sonographer).

Desirable Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of Ultrasound (Sonographer) experience in Imaging in a health care setting.

III.              Required Skills:

The following skills are necessary in order to perform the duties in the manner required: higher level of comprehension, skills, and ability, as well as continued learning is expected with increasing length of job experience.

Special Skills:

  14. Achieve and maintain competency in skills and comply with policies associated with the skills inventory.
  15. Demonstration and maintenance of competency through certification by a nationally recognized sonography credentialing organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  Completion of the following:

  • Must have a current certificate/diploma from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited national, state or military trained school.

Experience:  Candidates must have the following experience:

  • Shall have provided services as a Neurology Technician a minimum of 12 months within the past 24 months. The 12 months do not have to be consecutive.
  • The Neurology Technician shall have at least one year of supervisory and trainer experience in a Neurology Lab (civilian or military).

License/Certification and Training:

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Board-certified by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologies and/or Nerve Conduction Studies or Evoked Potentials (ABRET).


  • Monday to Friday between 5:30 AM – 5:30 PM (typical shift is 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

  • Strong attendance

We have 5-star staffing levels and all shifts are available:

  • 6:30AM to 3:00PM
  • 3:00PM to 11:30PM
  • 11:30PM to 8:00AM
