Midwestern Career College is proud to congratulate Radiography degree students Mirna Trujillo and Shanissa Johnson for receiving the Allied Health Undergraduate Scholarship awarded by the Provident Scholarship Fund and Cook County Health Foundation. Mirna and Shanissa are the first-ever recipients of the Provident Scholarship Fund, along with 29 other recipients.
The Provident Scholarship Fund devotes nearly $1 million to support current and future healthcare professionals committed to providing health care to underserved communities. Medical and dental students under the Health Professionals program will receive $20,000 scholarships, and Allied Health/Undergraduate and high school senior students were eligible to receive $10,000 scholarships.
“I am sincerely honored to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Provident Scholarship. Along with removing the load of financial debt, it gives me that drive of encouragement to keep pushing through my last semester. I am proud to become part of the Loretto hospital team, where I can connect with the Austin community. Thank you, Midwestern for helping me set the roots of my career.” – Mirna T.
“I am extremely grateful to be a recipient of the Provident Scholarship. This scholarship is completely different from any other award that I have received in the past. I believe it truly takes the student into account and seeks to eliminate any financial burden you may have, not just tuition. It truly caters to non-traditional students whose financial challenges exist outside of the institution. Because of this opportunity, I will be able to fully focus on completing my program debt-free. – Shanissa J.
Midwestern Career College is proud of Mirna and Shanissa for receiving the Allied Health Undergraduate Scholarship! Thank you to Cook County Health, Cook County Offices Under the President, and its Project Rainbow Initiative for helping our students reach their educational and career goals.
