Midwestern Career College’s Career Services team recently hosted a LinkedIn headshot event, offering students the opportunity to update their profile pictures and receive expert guidance on optimizing their LinkedIn profiles. The event was designed to help students stand out to recruiters, increase their chances of being noticed, and ultimately, get hired.
A good headshot can help make a positive first impression and convey a professional image to potential employers. According to recent studies, 87% of recruiters find LinkedIn the most effective platform for vetting job candidates, and approximately three people are hired every minute. With this in mind, Career Services was on hand to provide personalized assistance in setting up top-notch LinkedIn profiles, helping students create a profile that highlighted their skills, experience, and education in a way that resonated with potential employers.
LinkedIn Headshot Day was a huge success, with students from various MCC programs taking advantage of the opportunity to update their LinkedIn profiles. By the end of the event, students left with professional headshots and optimized LinkedIn profiles that would help them stand out in a crowded job market.
If you missed out on the recent professional LinkedIn Headshot event, don’t worry. The Career Services team is working on more campus events year-round to help students develop their professional skills and increase their chances of landing their dream job.
