Fresenius Medical Care and Midwestern Career College

Midwestern Career College, a provider of career-focused education in the field of allied health, announced that it had signed a clinical affiliation agreement with Fresenius Medical Care, a premier dialysis provider.

Covering 285 Fresenius locations in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, this agreement will enable MCC students to utilize their clinical skills as dialysis technologists in a real-world environment. Fresenius is excited to have more opportunities to give back to the medical community.

MCC CEO Jeremy Oberfeld stated, “We are very pleased to be affiliated with a premier provider of renal care services. This agreement will help improve the quality of dialysis training that we provide to our students and expand their career opportunities post-graduation.”

Fresenius Medical Care maintains more than 2,200 dialysis clinics in the U.S., has served more than 190,000 patients, and performs 26 million hemodialysis treatment equivalents in North America each year.

MCC offers a 10-month dialysis technologist training program at its campuses in Chicago, Blue Island and Naperville. The program is one of only three approved training programs in the Chicagoland area for the Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing Technology (BONENT) certification as a Certified Hemodialysis Technologist/Technician (CHT).

Under this agreement, graduates of MCC’s dialysis technologist training program may be eligible to complete clinical hours at Fresenius locations, a requirement for BONENT certification.
