Description

Reporting to Manager of Sterile Processing or designee and under general supervision the Central Sterile Processing Technician performs according to specific procedures including but not limited to duties associated with receiving, reprocessing and distributing and storing surgical case carts as well as other supplies and equipment used in direct patient care.

The Certified Sterile Processing Technician decontaminates instruments, assembles trays and/or equipment, and sterilizes instrument trays for prescribed patient procedures. Assembles case carts for specific surgical procedures. In response to the time-critical needs of the surgeon, nurses and OR team members, the SRP CP Technician processes a variety of highly specialized surgical instrument trays and powered surgical tools and implant devices, often in high pressure situations engendered by the life-threatening nature of unexpected trauma or technologically advanced surgical procedures.

Position Requirements

Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education

Minimum Experience Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience

Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience

Licensure/Certifications Required: Surgical – Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician

On-Call is required

Compensation

Pay Range: $17.30-$26.81 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
