Responsibilities:
– Assist the dentist during dental procedures
– Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
– Take and develop dental X-rays
– Perform dental charting and recordkeeping
– Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-operative care
– Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment
– Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records
– Maintain a clean and organized dental office environment
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
– Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
– Proficiency in dental assisting techniques, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry
– Familiarity with medical coding for dental procedures
– Experience with digital X-ray systems and imaging software
– Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
– Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Dentrix
– Experience with CAD/CAM systems for digital impressions is a plus
Skills:
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other team members
– Excellent organizational skills to manage patient records and appointment scheduling
– Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in charting, recordkeeping, and instrument sterilization
– Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and providing quality patient care
