Midwestern Career College’s Web Design Specialist Certificate This program is designed to introduce the fundamentals of web design and equip students with the ability to create a simple or advanced website. The students will learn coding and how to post basic HTML and CSS files to the Internet and apply Javascript graphics applications and other authorizing tools to design, editing, and publishing (launching) of documents, images, graphics, sound, and multimedia products on the World Wide Web. In addition, this course will explore key industry-standard design guidelines to ensure strong online presentation while applying foundational knowledge of website creation including planning, design and development of a functional web page.

*This program has not yet been approved by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and is not yet eligible for Title IV Financial Aid.

4. Understand how to edit and upload websites to a web server
5. Be familiar with different web design theories and understand web terminology

Program Courses:
CST103 Web Page Design
The objective of this course is to provide students with a basic knowledge of the theoretical foundations of human-computer interaction and an appreciation for human factors in software systems. Students will practice designing user-centered interfaces. In this course, students will learn HTML basic tags, images, links, lists, tables, CSS basics, responsive design, Twitter bootstrap, and HTML forms.  
 
CST106 Intro to Java Script
This class introduces the JavaScript language, with a focus on advanced language features and client-side programming. Topics covered include basic syntax, object-oriented programming, closures, higher-order functions, the DOM, and AJAX.
 
Admissions requirements:
Potential students must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
