Midwestern Career College in Chicago has an open position for a Network Engineer.

Key Job Elements:

Our College is looking to hire a Network Engineer with 5 years of experience to perform the following duties: Planning, implementing, designing, analyzing, and maintaining the highly complex network infrastructures of a large academic campus network, including: Data Center, LAN, WAN, WLAN, DHCP, Voice over IP, Video and Internet access. Configure and install various network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS). Perform a comparative analysis and designing telecommunications systems consistent with the campus requirements and all applicable codes. Perform network maintenance and system upgrades. Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. Select and implement network security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the standards and campus requirements. Develop and maintain network automation tools. Identify the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment. Perform in-depth troubleshooting/analysis/isolation/resolution of escalated voice or data network. Document network support activities. Bachelor’s degree or academic equivalent in Electronics Engineering or related fields required. Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM (40 hours per week).
