 Administrative Assistant for Care Management Unit

Department:    Care Management

Location:         Chicago

FLSA Status:   Seasonal (Hourly Part-Time, non-exempt)

The Role                                                                                             

Provide administrative/clerical support to the Care Management Team members.  Facilitate timely mail notification of Utilization Review determination outcomes.  Maintain documentation of work completed.

Core Responsibilities include:

  • Print and mail activities for Care Management.
  • Maintain appropriate electronic and/or paper files
  • Work collaboratively with members of the Care Management Team
  • Process all documents using a computer, copier, and scanner
  • Attention to detail with mailing/print requirements, enclosures, and timeframes
  • Complete UR outgoing USPS mail and mail it out daily
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance job skills and knowledge
  • Participate in team meetings to communicate and learn knowledge and information related to job function, company, and industry
  • Follow HIPAA and regulations
  • Other administrative assistant functions as assigned for the Care Management Team.

Reports to:

Utilization Review Program Manager

Requirements/Education:

  • Strong computer and internet skills (will work with programs including MS Word, Outlook, Vision, Excel, and printing application(s))
  • Basic knowledge of/ability to read medical reports, or enthusiastic about learning medical terminology
  • Proficient verbal/telephone and written communication skills
  • An aptitude for learning, organization skills, and the ability to follow systems and procedures
  • The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Deductive reasoning and thinking outside the box for creative solutions
  • Independent thinking & problem-solving experience
  • A Bachelor’s Degree, or an Associate’s/Certification with professional experience
