Certified Surgical Tech

Community Hospital in Munster, IN is currently looking to hire Certified Surgical Techs.  Under the supervision of a surgeon and in accordance with established standards of practice and hospital policy and procedures, facilitates the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Education/Experience:
· High School graduation or equivalent.
Must meet one of the following requirements:
Has completed a surgical technology program provided by the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, or the commissioned corps of the United States Public Health Service.
Is performing duties related to the individual’s employment by the federal government.
Is practicing surgical technology during the twelve (12) month period immediately following the completion of a degree from an accredited school of surgical technology.
Has the appropriate abilities, as determined by the health care facility.
Certified Surgical Technologist Credentials administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) are required
Must accumulate 15 hours of AST approved Continuing Education related to Surgical Technology per calendar year (July 1 thru June 30).

Maintain annual CPR Certification along with other mandatory competencies per hospital/department policy.
