CNA Day of Celebration 2017 | Midwestern Career College

CNA Day of Celebration 2017

Each year, caregivers and certified nursing assistants (C.N.A.’s) throughout the Chicagoland area work hard to be a positive and caring force in the lives of their patients. Not often enough does the healthcare world stop to thank them for their service.

On Friday, June 16, 2017, Caregiverlist and Midwestern Career College roll out the red carpet for C.N.A.’s and caregivers during the C.N.A. Day of Celebration. Timed to coincide with C.N.A. Appreciation Week from June 15-22, this event will feature a career fair, stimulating workshops, entertainment, prizes and food meant to thank them for their service and the work they do to improve the lives of their patients.

Is your agency or facility looking to hire CNAs or caregivers? Register your company for a table at the career fair!

Friday, June 16, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The morning session of workshops from 9:00 a.m. to noon will be repeated in the afternoon from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Career Fair

The event will offer an all-day career fair in which caregivers and C.N.A.’s will be able to network with representatives from:

  • nursing homes
  • health care agencies
  • assisted living facilities
  • senior centers
  • hospitals

Caregivers and C.N.A.’s should bring plenty of copies of their resumes, because we’ll have healthcare employers from across Chicago at our career fair.

C.N.A.’s and caregivers confront challenging issues each day. Our workshops will help them get the continuing education they need while also providing them with advice on resume writing, interviewing and career progression.

Here are just some of the topics workshops will over:

  • Caring for patients with memory loss
  • How to get funding to finance your education
  • What step are you on on your career ladder? Going from caregiver to C.N.A. to diagnostics or direct patient care
  • Important hands-on techniques that all C.N.A.’s need to have
  • Tips on interviewing
  • One-on-one resume coaching

Certificates of completion will be available for participants of the workshops on memory loss and techniques/skills, making this a valuable continuing education experience.

Documentary films of interest to nursing aides and caregivers will be shown.

Food and Prizes

A free lunch will be served at noon. Snacks and beverages will be available all day.

Each attendee will receive a free gift bag. Raffles will be held during lunch with prizes awarded throughout the day.
